Swoop to the Patagonian Lake District in December 2020 for a Total Eclipse of the Heart
Bristol, 24 February 2020: Specialist tour operator, Swoop Patagonia, is pleased to announce that it is offering a two-night/three-day add-on package for visitors to the Chilean and Argentinian Lake District, which will give them the opportunity to witness a magical Solar Eclipse when it takes place in this stunning South American region on 14th December 2020.
The Solar Eclipse package, which may be incorporated in to any of Swoop’s Northern Patagonian holidays, includes two nights’ accommodation in the picturesque city of Valdivia, together with return transfers to an exclusive viewing site close to the town of Teodoro Schmidt.
The specially reserved viewing area offers a clear vista of the sky, with no trees or buildings to impede the much-anticipated sighting of the eclipse, which is due to take place at 1300 hours on 14th December. Viewers will also be served a delicious lunch made from local ingredients during this trip.
The price for the Eclipse three-day package is £1200 per person including two-nights hotel accommodation with breakfast, full board on day 2 of the itinerary and transfer and excursions with an English speaking guide.
In addition to the glistening lakes after which it is named, the Patagonian Lake District boasts striking, conical volcanoes, lush forests and glacial rivers that provide the perfect backdrop for a wide range of outdoor activities, such as hiking, kayaking, white-water rafting, mountain biking and horse riding.
The Chilean lakeside resort of Pucon is an ideal starting point for all of these outdoor activities and, with a range of accommodation available including B&B and 5-star luxury, visitors can choose the most appropriate place to stay for the level of comfort required and the budget available.
Prices for a five-day Bike, Hike & Raft package, for example, start from £900 per person. This includes accommodation in a mid-range boutique B&B, airport transfers, hiking the Villarica volcano, with its open crater, simmering lava pools and stunning views of the Andes, descending the volcano by mountain bike, as well as exhilarating white-water rafting expeditions.
Extended trips which allow for additional activities or further exploration of the beautiful scenery throughout the Chilean and Argentinian Lake District – or elsewhere in Patagonia – may also be arranged, either on a tailormade basis or on a group trip. In addition, there are options for those in search of a less active break, such as a self-drive road trip, fly-fishing or a wine tasting tour.
