The most remote archipelago in the world, the French Polynesian Marquesas is a cluster of wildly beautiful islands around 900 miles northeast of Tahiti. Aranui 3 – a cargo cum passenger cruise ship – is the only ship to sail the 2,200-mile, 14-day round trip from Papeete to all six inhabited Marquesas Islands, operating a regular schedule all year round.

A lifeline to the outside world, the Aranui delivers everything from cement to brake pads, bulldozers to boats to the islands’ remote valleys.
