New Golf Expedition Cruise introduces a world-class experience and action packed program for golfers and active cruise travellers

London, 5 July 2017 – The new “Fiddles & Sticks” Golf Expedition Cruise designed and operated by expedition cruise specialist, One Ocean Expeditions (OOE), takes travellers and golf enthusiasts to some of the world’s finest oceanfront golf courses whilst exploring the iconic sites and sounds of Canada’s Maritime Provinces.

OOE is ‘on par’ with this sensational seven-night voyage:  Canada’s East Coast Golf Expedition, Fiddles and Sticks, 27 June – 4 July 2018.  “The reason we expanded our cruise product on Canada’s East Coast is simple. The range and quality of experiences and world class golf courses available in such proximity is impossible to match”, said Andrew Prossin, Managing Director at OOE. “The convenience and hassle-free access to each golf course is fantastic. For the first time ever, we have created a program that offers private water taxi transfer each day, to experience five diverse golf courses,” added Prossin.

OOE has created a unique cruise experience full of wildlife encounters, colourful coastal villages and exciting off ship excursions plus easy access to several of Canada’s most spectacular golfing locations. The seven-night journey takes golf enthusiasts to five of the world’s finest oceanfront golf courses, while non-golfers will visit captivating coastal destinations such as fabled Sable Island, home of the wild horses, and the picturesque Isles de-la-Madeleine located in the French speaking province of Quebec. The expedition cruise is rich in experiences for golfers and non-golfers alike.

Play five of the best seaside golf courses on the planet:  In Nova Scotia, golfers can experience three spectacular links courses. The 36-hole complex Cabot Links and Cabot Cliffs is rated in the top 20 links courses in the world.  On the island of Cape Breton, the courses are in a magnificent coastal setting with the village of Inverness behind. Highlands Links in Ingonish is a “must play” course with its dramatically diverse topography running from a rocky cliff to the mountains of Cape Breton. Club de Golf des Isles in L’Etan du Nord on Quebec’s picturesque Isle de-la-Madeleine, is stunning and slightly less challenging. After testing their skills on the Cape, golfers enjoy the gentle terrain of this 9-hole course.  Crowbush, in the village of Morelle on Prince Edward Island (PEI), is a five-star championship design course and undoubtedly the island’s jewel in the crown.

Join an expedition not a cruise: While golf enthusiasts enjoy the natural beauty and unique layout of each course, non-golfing guests can experience a wide selection of guided excursions from sea kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, cycling and hiking to wildlife viewing onboard zodiacs. Educational seminars, conducted by knowledgeable staff and experts in marine biology, history, geology, arts & culture and photography, will keep guests informed on the region. The active programming and authentic setting provided onboard the 98-passenger purpose built scientific research vessel, One Ocean Navigator, defines the expedition nature of OOE’s cruises.

Experience wild cultural diversity and wildlife: Canada’s East Coast is colourful and rich in spirit and culture, with its vibrant heritage and eclectic mix of traditions emerging from the English, French, Irish, Celtic, Scottish and Acadian ancestors who set foot on the east coast centuries ago. The friendliness and authenticity of locals and onboard staff will melt the hearts of travellers. The sounds of unique accents and the smell of the sea is a feast for the senses. The region is equally rich in nature and wildlife.  Sable Island is the highlight of the voyage for many. Remote and windswept, the island has seen fewer than 2000 visitors recently. Wild horses graze freely on the sand banks and the island is also home to the world’s largest grey seal colony and rare migratory seabirds. Whale watching along the coast of Cape Breton and in the Gulf of St Lawrence is particularly exciting with sightings of humpback, minke, blue and pilot whales.

To celebrate the inaugural “Fiddles and Sticks” Golf Expedition Cruise, 27 June – 4 July 2018 OOE is offering a booking incentive of US$750 per person. Prices start at US$2645 based on a triple-share cabin and includes the early booking incentive, green fees, accommodation and meals onboard as well as daily excursions.
